boil 的用法三要点

1. 用作及物动词表示“烹煮”时，可后接双宾语。如：

Mother boiled me an egg.

= Mother boiled an egg for me.

母亲给我煮了一个鸡蛋。

2. boiling water与boiled water意思不同，前者指“正在沸腾的水”，后者指“开水（已经开过的水）”。

Why did you wash it in boiling water? 你为什么把它放在开水里洗？

Cool the boiled water to proper temperature. 把开水冷却到适当的温度。

3. 在口语中，现在分词boiling可用作副词，但通常只限于boiling hot（很热）这一搭配中，相当于very hot。如：a boiling hot day 炎热的一天。类似的还有：a baking hot day 炎热的一天 / piping hot water (soup) 滚烫的水（汤）等。
