肯定句中any后可接复数名词吗

有读者朋友在“问答中心”问了这样一道题（见www.yygrammar.com/guestbook/Guest_Reply.asp?TopicID=999）：

The designer is free to call on any available _______ of help to guide him through the staggering number of possibilities.

A.source B. sources

答案是选A还是B呢？个人认为：最好填 source，但填 sources 也可以（即复数不如单数常见）。

根据英语语法，在肯定句中，表示“任何”的any 后通常接单数名词（单数可数名词或不可数名词）。如：

You can get it at any shop. 你可以在任何一家商店买到它。

Any car must be insured. 任何汽车都必须投保。

She could hold her own in any drinking session. 在任何酒会上，她可与他人相匹敌。

In Britain, any information is seen as a commodity. 在英国，任何信息都被看作商品。

Making film of any length was very difficult. 那时拍摄任何长度的电影都是困难的。

Admission to any college or university is by examination. 进入任何学院或大学都要通过考试。

Any book about riding will tell you how to saddle a horse. 任何有关骑术的书都会告诉你怎样装马鞍。

Any dictionary will give you the meaning of these words. 只要是本词典，就会给出这些词的词义。

Ask any doctor―they’II all tell you that alcohol is a poison. 你可以去问任何一位大夫，他们都会告诉你酒精是有毒的。

但在实际运用中，在肯定句中表示“任何”的any 后有时也接复数名词，如以下两句均摘自国外语法著作：

The people will report to you before making any major decisions. 这些人在作出任何重大决定前都会向你报告。

Your doctor or surgeon will answer any questions you may have. 你的内科或外科医生会回答你可能提出的任何问题。

在肯定句中，表示“任何”的any 后接单数可数名词，表示“任何一个”；后接复数名词，表示“任何的”（并不强调单个的个体）。
