by bus之类短语中可用冠词

by bike之类短语中可用冠词

类似于by bike 这类短语很多，可用于这类搭配的名词主要是交通工具，如bus, train, plane, car, taxi, ship, coach等，在这类短语中，名词前通常不用冠词。如：

We went by coach. 我们是坐公共汽车去的。

It takes 30 hours to get there by train. 坐火车到那里要三十个钟头。

Shall we walk or go by bus? 我们走着去还是坐公共汽车去?

但是，若表示交通工具的名词前插有定语，则可以使用冠词。如：

They came here by the first bus. 他们是坐第一班车来的。

We went to Shanghai by a large ship. 我们乘一艘大船去上海。

这样用的by有时相当于介词on。如：

He is arriving tomorrow morning on [by] the 16:40 train. 他乘下午4:40的火车明天上午到。
